Wild Friends Legislative Activities

Wild Friends provides an authentic legislative advocacy experience by having students actively involved in the progress of their piece of legislation. The field trips to the NM State Capitol are not just a tour, but an opportunity for students to speak to legislators about what they are working on and why legislators should support their work.

 Students will actively participate in the legislative session by:

• Visiting the NM State Capitol
• Speaking to legislators
• Providing expert testimony at committee hearings
• Writing letters
• Creating advocacy videos
