Why is Civics Important?
The study of civics is important because it helps people to understand how government works, and it provides people with knowledge about how to influence government as a citizen.

Wild Friends Civics Curriculum:
The Wild Friends civics curriculum includes four lessons on the topics of good citizenship, how a bill becomes law and the three branches of government, drafting legislation, and crafting arguments to support their legislation. All lessons feature engaging activities like role plays and student-led research projects and include resource lists. Lessons are aligned to New Mexico Social Studies Standards for grades 5-8.
